The next day, we did Lollapalooza and Roscoes. Both times, the crowd was insane! I always have such great time in Chicago..people are just really, really nice there.

After doing Roscoes we went to sleep for 2 hours and flew to Kansas at 4 am. Insane. But loving every bit of it.

I also performed this new song called Zero Gravity which so many kids loved and responded to. Oh, the energy all the MoonChildren are giving me during performances! It’s my new drug.

And then I saw Muse. They are incredible. I wonder how many hours a day they rehearse. Must be many hours cause these guys were just SOOO tight plus played a hit after hit after hit. Incredible and beautiful!

I was thinking I gotta start making a list every year of the bands I need to see that year and pick at least five and make a real effort to go and see them. Depeche Mode is like number one in the list right now. Must. See.

Right now I’m in Atlantic City…will keep pics from here for the next post, otherwise it’s gonna be way too long.

Living in LA is so rad cause u can find anything u can think of. I’m a big nerd so I love museums and art galleries. I’ve had some time for myself for the past week so I’ve taken advantage of it and checked out some exhibitions.
The first one was something every goth kid in LA has been excited about forever: the Tim Burton at LACMA.
Pictures weren’t allowed inside so I couldn’t get any others than this but it was super awesome. They had all the character descriptions from his movies and the Edward Scissorhand costume which is so precious it even had it’s own security guard. Really made me wanna put some more Goth in my Bubble. For some reason I’ve gotten into a bit less introverted and quirky space this year..anyway..me and Vespertine are gonna do some new darker shoots. There’s a little creepy girl inside me…just gotta get in touch again.
Oh, if you live in LA and go, you MUST check out the human nature exhibit as well. It’s running right now and it’s incredible.

I also went to the Royal T gallery/cafe space in Culver City. Rad art + waitresses were wearing lolita outfits. If I was a guy, I would so date some Japanese anime character looking girl. I tweeted this tea pot bed as well but I’ll post it again.
WANT! Also want everything else in that space.

Today I saw the Beauty Culture at the Annenberg Space of Photography. It’s one of my fave places to go see art in LA. The exhibits they choose are always amazing and the staff is super friendly. It’s free as well.
This one is about beauty. Selling it, buying it, loving it, hating it. Anyway, it’s the shiz.

HAVE YOU GOTTEN YOUR AURA CHECKED?

According to some peoples belief, the aura is a radiance from the “energy field” that supposedly emanates from and surrounds all living things. It is perceived not by ordinary vision but by clairvoyance. Another way to see the aura is to use Kirilian photography.
Kirlian photography is named after Semyon Davidovich Kirlian (1900-1980), a Russian electrician who observed that an electric spark can “take its own picture” as it passes through a photographic emulsion. This phenomenon had been well known to physicists and electrical engineers since the earliest days of photography. But in 1939, Kirlian proclaimed that he was photographing a supernatural human energy field.
Pretty much, you put your hands on a plate which is connected to a high frequency generator. For a short moment, the hand is exposed to high frequency rays through the plate. The reaction of hands is recorded on photographic paper and after the film is developed, an image appears.
It’s then analyzed as different colors mean different things.
There are a lot of skeptics when it comes to this kind of stuff but to me, I don’t really care too much. My best friend says that an aura photo is like a fortune cookie: it might be just a gimmick but it’s fun and sometimes it’s dead on:)

I was super excited to have my aura photographed cause I’ve never done it before and u know I’m a huge sucker for all this kind of stuff.
I was sure I’d get some kind of a light blue/white shimmery kind of photograph but to my surprise, my aura photo was all red. I hate red! I hate yellow too. I really dislike this whole spectrum of colors. I always have. LOL!
I told the aura photographer girl this wasn’t really crackin’ but she explained that I’m probably drawn to all these light shimmery colors cause my own energy is so intense and I’m looking for balance.
She then asked what my sign was and after hearing I was an airy aquarian she was very surpised as well.
Anyway, she said that I have a lot of passion and drive right now and I’m in the ultimate “get shit done” mode which is pretty accurate. She said the yellow and gold coming in from the left is creativity, joy and prosperity. She also noticed that there’s some gold in my throat chakra which means my happiness and prosperity will come through expressing myself.
In the end she said I need to write a song about forgiveness. Maybe I will.

I was studying more about aura photography and I really love how the plants auras look with this camera.
I go on a vision quest once a year with my best friend and we spend like a whole night in the desert or some other magical place and set an intention to see and learn. I have seen plants auras on these vision quests and they do look exactly like on this picture. They kinda glow in peacock colors.

RANDOM STUFF

Other than that, I’ve just been doing random stuff. Been rehearsing, doing radio promo and making some new things. Also been out GothClubbing with my friends who I never see because I’m always away. It’s been nice to cook stuff in my house and have a little more chill time cause we’re about to start working the first single and as of now, I already have no days off in August.
I know you guys are impatient but the single and the album are coming. I’m working on the video treatment and been sketching outfits and sets. We have the final mix and we’re gonna put together the remix package.
Do u guys think I should dance in the video? You never see Blondie or Annie Lennox or any of the chicks i really love and respect get down with their 10 gay dancers so I’m not sure.

I also got bored with having blonde hair again so I took your advice and put in a little purple. Gonna put more.

Someone posted this song on facebook. It’s me, 14 years old. The song is so depressing..it’s about how we all become cherry trees. It’s a really beautiful melody but it’s kinda on the heavier side lyrically.
It’s about death.
I was soo goth.
When I was little and learned piano, every time I would have to pick a new song to play, it was a really complicated process. My teacher would just have to go through tens and tens of pieces until I found the one I liked. She says I was always asking for a “sad song”.
Lol.

On this picture, I had written “no love=no sex” on my shoes amongst all my musings about existence and “fuck the system” statements. Lol. I was very passionate about keeping my virginity for someone who actually loved me cause everyone in my town was so promiscuous and that grossed me out.
This was my first photoshoot actually..I had just gotten my first record deal:) I had already gotten into coloring my hair crazy colors and getting piercings so you can only imagine the world war 3 in my house on a daily basis. Lol.

Me and my bestie found the highest mountain top in the whole LA area and watched the whole city go nuts with fireworks. It’s so high up we couldn’t hear anything. It’s been one of my favorite places in the whole world forever now.

Lately I’ve felt a bit disconnected spiritually cause I’ve just worked way too much without taking any time to reflect or enjoy. So now that I’m back in my house after traveling for a month, I started thinking what it is that makes me truly happy and I figured it out… so I thought I’d share my thoughts with you:

I told u guys I had this really bad depression in december and I couldn’t really get out of bed for a month. I was looking ahead and all I saw was how much work I was gonna have to do to go to the next level from where I was.
And although I’ve never had a question in my mind that I was gonna be an artist since I was like 5, this december must have been the one time where I seriously questioned if everything that I had been working for was even worth it.
It was a strange feeling. Like u’ve been walking on a path ignoring all the other roads that could have taken you to other places. You’ve been on this path and people have walked with you and some quit and some took other roads, some got slow and u had to leave them behind.
And then there I was on the road looking ahead and all I saw was a long, endless road. “I have walked so long and never questioned if i was on the right road but I am tired of this road!” I said to myself.
I was feeling very alone cause all I’ve done since I started 10 years ago was to leave everything and everyone behind. I saw that everything I’ve already done was nothing compared to everything I’m gonna have to do to take the next step and I didn’t know if I wanted to make that sacrifice.
I don’t know what it’s like to have a simple life. I don’t know what it’s like to stop working at the end of the day and just hang out. I was feeling so alone.
But then…
I broke through.

I BECAME CURIOUS.

All of a sudden it wasn’t about where the road was taking me. It was about what was on the road. How could I not pay attention before?
All the little rocks on the road – each one of them unique and interesting. All the plants growing beside the road – each one of them having different leaves, different color. All the smells in the air coming from villages and cities nearby. And there were people that occasionally came and walked with me. They weren’t boring! Each one of them had their own struggles, their own perception and oh so many stories to share that kept walking with them interesting. All of them had something to say that offered me a different perspective.

It was still the same road, just the way I saw it was different.
I started embracing every little moment, every person that I came in contact with. Running into roadblocks just made me smile cause I saw them as something that is part of my road, trying to send me a message of some kind. I even started feeling more than ever that I was creating the road. All I had to do was to think of something and it would manifest on the road. I became a child and every day became a fun game.

It’s all in our heads.

Choose to see life through the eyes of a child cause u deserve nothing less that to have an amazing journey as a human.

Embrace E V E R Y T H I N G.

It’s always perfect and you are and will always be fine, my dear one.

WRITING

We are about to release the first single and wrap up the album so besides all the stuff I’m doing in my bedroom, my label flew me to Europe to try out a few epic collaborators. I worked with so many cool teams: Play and Win in Romania, Filthy, DadaLife and 78 in Sweden. Did like 8 new songs. My brain is still fried from this kind of writing. I usually work on my own so it’s strange to go to the studio and just crank out stuff. Being not inspired is not an option when your label is on the phone, wanting to hear something by the next day. Swim or fucking sink, right? lol.
Anyway, I did write some really good stuff and it’s always fun to see what other people have been cooking up so u can then merge their vision with yours. It’s just like someone coming over with different ingredients than what you usually use to boil your soup.
I was really inspired by the element air on this trip. I am an air sign Aquarius so I naturally am drawn to it but this was especially intense.
I’ve been liking fire lately as well but yea, this was a very airy writing experience. Lots of sky themes, evoking air spirits.
I do insane science studies when I write lyrics. I order books from amazon to learn about specific themes and words and colors and magic and then try to make it really simple. I wanna know everything there is to know about everything!:)

this pic is from Romania:) I was giving a reading to one of the producers from Play&Win in the middle of a very very late night writing session. The energy was off the hook that night and we wrote something really great.

Now there’s like 5-6 more tracks I need to finish in my house and then if nothing epic slaps me in the face, I think I’ve said everything I wanna say with this album.

FOOD

I love food. It’s awesome traveling and experiencing all these different flavors. The food in Romania was insane! They have this Eastern European touch but they also have the Mediterranean influence in food and architecture that just makes everything way more awesome. I’ve never had cheeses so fresh in my life!

In Sweden, I always go to this place called Helsans Hus. They have all sorts of Yoga classes and awesome groups but the most important thing is that they have this restaurant Hermans which is this vegan place but you really don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything munching on their epic lasagne + amazing salads and desserts. I also love their little tea corner and outside patio with cozy blankets by the sea, overlooking the whole Stockholm.
Make sure u go if u’re ever around that neck of the woods:)

Eating out all the time is nice but there really is nothing I love more than spending a few solid days in my favorite place in the world – my house. I burn some incence, make new outfits, read books, write music and do simple things to relax – like cleaning. I love cleaning and cooking. It’s so nice and simple. Lately I haven’t had any time to be on my own and just hang out at home so when I can…I feel so good..makes me wanna purrrrrr.

Some home made quinoa with cashews, tofu and vegetables anyone? Straight out of my BubbleGoth kitchen:)

INSPIRATION

I went to Estonia for one day while in Europe. Didn’t have enough time to see everyone I wanted to see but went over to my grandparents house.
My grandparents are amazing. My grandfather was my first singing teacher. He’s a musician and now that he’s retired, he writes music all day. He even has built himself a little recording studio in his house. He’s like 75. How dope is it that he’s so passionate? I never totally understood him but the older I get I see how he’s probably the person in my family who I get my love for music from.
My grandmother is also one incredible lady. She’s highly sensitive and has always been psychic and had dreams about future events. Because of how the country is, she has never fully embraced it but I’ve always felt a very strong connection with her and I think she is a lot of where I get my sensitivity from.
A couple of years ago she started painting. She always wanted to paint but had kids and a job and never had the time for it. Now when she has all the time in the world, all she does is paint. In their house, there is no wall that is not covered by her art and every time I go over, she has gotten so much better than she was the last time.
I almost got 2 paintings of roses she had done which would have fit so well into my anime/rocknroll/shabby chic place but she changed her mind and said she’d wanna do even better ones. Getting them in August:)

I also had some Italian food in Chicago cause I did a little stop there before coming back from Europe and the waitress had this tattoo on her arm:

It is so true.
I used to be an awful girlfriend cause I was looking for love in some other place than within me. It never worked. One can not truly love anyone else if they don’t love themselves.
Being in a relationship is about walking on a similar path, growing at the same pace and if that’s not the case, one should be brave enough to let go for the sake of themselves and for the other person. There is no reason why we shouldn’t be happy. We’ve got such little time here on earth.

GETTING READY FOR THE SAN FRAN PRIDE:

Rehearsing at my besties house (feel bad for the neighbors cause we like to rock out late) and sewing, gluing…u know…the whole thing.
